Asakusabashi – a Forgotten Gem

Nestling in between Akihabara and Asakusa is Asakusabashi. It’s overlooked in many discussions of downtown Tokyo, but this means that it doesn’t get the tourists that Asakusa gets – which is nice! The following photos were taken in Nishi-Guchi Yakiton, A shop that specializes in skewered pork, not chicken (hence yakiton, not yakitori). If you’re wondering what the thing on the left is … it’s yaki-Fransu-pan. Yes that’s right, yakitori bread.

This drink is Baisu-Sour … a kind of plum vinegar cocktail.

This is an amazingly frothy dobburoku-sake. Watch out it’s still alive!!
